As you would have heard, Holden has announced they are shutting down all their operations in Australia and now we now cannot visit the Holden Proving Ground at Lang Lang on Sunday 25th October as advertised.
We have been working with Holden staff to plan this day since October 2018, and last met with them nine days before the announcement, where more planning was done. Plans were well underway so this is very disappointing for the Committee, but way beyond our control.
We already had an alternative program organised for those not wanting to attend the Proving Ground and are currently working on other exciting possibilities for Sunday October 25th. We will make announcements before the end of March.
FYI, below is the reply from Holden regarding the Holden Proving Ground event.
Unfortunately, owing to what you’d have to agree are exceptional circumstances, we will no longer be able to host the Monaro Nationals as originally intended.
It’s early days in terms of detail around how we’re going to procedure through to closure, but what has been confirmed is the Proving Ground will close at the end of August.
Please pass on our sincere apologies to your club.
We have always valued the passion and dedication of Holden car clubs and we wish you well for the future.
Keep the passion and those cars out on the road!
